Books
This page just has some of the books I have read recently. I decided to put this page up after conquering the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, which is as captivating as it is long and I recommend to everyone who’s looking to get into fiction!
Book | Author | Rating | Thoughts |
---|---|---|---|
There Are Places in the World Where Rules Are Less Important Than Kindness | Carlo Rovelli | 4/5 | A fun writing style, where Rovelli seems to appreciate the fly-trap nature of his observations. |
Remarkably Bright Creatures | Shelby Van Pelt | 5/5 | My definition of a comfort read. A gripping story that makes you want to hug your loved ones and appreciate the important things in life. |
Kingdom of Ash | Sarah J Maas | 5/5 | A perfect ending to an epic series. |
The Call of the Wild | Jack London | 4/5 | A perfect story for a cold winter day. A good reminder that there is some untamed nature in all of us. |
The Love Hypothesis | Ali Hazelwood | 4/5 | A fun love story that makes you remember that love can happen anywhere, any time. |
The Mountain in the Sea | Ray Nayler | 5/5 | A masterpiece. Nayler makes the story feel totally real despite its ridiculousness. A perfect intertwining of AI, philosophy, and consciousness. |
Why Fish Don’t Exist | Lulu Miller | 4.5/5 | This book may or may not change your life (in a good way). |
Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon | Michael Lewis | 2/5 | Wasn’t impressed. Lewis seems to have some sort of agenda while writing this book, and I got rubbed the wrong way. |
The Age of AI and OUr Human Future | Henry Kissinger | 3.5/5 | Useful and informative, but not groundbreaking. |
The Joy of X | Steven Strogatz | 3/5 | This book is great if you want to read about math without doing any. |
Queen of Shadows | Sarah J Maas | 5/5 | Maybe the best book in the series. |
The Assassin’s Blade | Sarah J Maas | 4.5/5 | The short story format keeps you on the edge of your seat. Sam. |
Daisy Jones & The Six | Taylor Jenkins Reid | 4.5/5 | This reads like the characters are right there with you. A fun and flashy story that you will want to finish in one sitting |
Heir of Fire | Sarah J Maas | 5/5 | What a journey this one is. Contains some of the most memorable moments in the whole series. |
What I Talk About When I Talk About Running | Haruki Muarakami | 3.5/5 | I started running more after reading this, not sure why though. |
Crown of Midnight | Sarah J Maas | 4.5/5 | Great character development. Things are just getting started! |
Throne of Glass | Sarah J Maas | 4.5/5 | You’ve got to start somewhere, and this story has some essential moments and serves as the foundation for the series. |
AI For Good | Juan Ferres and William Weeks | 4.5/5 | An essential, accessible read for those that want to learn about the bright side of AI. |
